I love to color Mandalas--seems to center me and gets me creative! Some friends gave me a mandala coloring book years ago and I still use it.

I agree! One of the best things I can do when I'm stuck is to change my environment and take a break from thinking about it. I'll go for a walk, play Legos, color, grab a book ... and when I come back to it, I usually can approach the situation much differently.

I think that Linda has greatly simplified the issue of anxiety. Especially in lieu of today's life.
I think if we were more in control of our current & future, facing fears to remove the anxiety would be great. The problem is that we have to deal with unexpected situations that we cannot learn to face, because we are not in control of them & were not due to any choices we made.
Examples can be "suddenly hearing that your job was off-shored", you excelled at it. The changes that can occur when you or others in your family have a serious health need that could have been taken care of in the past, but either cannot be paid for or was turned down by your insurance carrier. That is the number cause of bankruptcies in the states.
I think the realistic uncertainty in our lives and having to rely on other's decisions can mess up separating actual fear & anxiety.

I agree with you, Linda. Anytime you're feeling stuck, it's time to take a time out and look at the situation from a different perspective. Many times this does involve enlisting the help from someone who isn't "close" to the situation.

When I get stuck I find my self repeating the same process trying to make it work. When I catch myself doing it, I often do as you suggest and just drop it for a while and then approach it from a different perspective and then I can see it in a new light.
